We have found that if you match the color of the chimney flashing with the color of the shingles it makes for a much better looking roof.

In this pictures you can see that the way we install our chimney flashing that even if the chimney flashing was to leak the water would simply run down the ice and water shield to the edge of the roof and go into the gutters.

On this roof we used a black color 26 gauge metal custom bent flashing. There were several different colors that would have matched this shingle color but the home owner liked the black color
